Decrease in game-related educations

Björn Berg Marklund, researcher at the University of Skövde has yet again done a study of the Swedish Game Education. His report “Swedish Game Education: 2001-2016 An overview of the past and present of Swedish, academic, game-related educations”.

– Over the past year we have seen the companies in the swedish video game industry has expressed their concern about how difficult it is to get hold of skilled labor. The industry is growing quickly and steadily, and the lack of new staff can be a bottleneck for its continued growth. The purpose of the report is to describe how the situation developed for the Swedish Game Education, and to highlight educational programs related with the industry by comparing this development with the growth of industry, says Björn Berg Marklund.
