Winter Pitch Showcased Tomorrow’s Innovations
On Tuesday, Winter Pitch took place at Science Park Skövde, where entrepreneurs from both the digitalization sector and the games industry seized the chance to present their latest ideas to investors and publishers.
“It was yet another successful edition of Winter Pitch – a day that manages to gather tomorrow’s ideas under one roof,” says Daniel Nilsson, Business Coach at Science Park Skövde.
A total of six teams from the digitalization sector and nine studios from the games industry pitched their ideas. Companies from Science Park Skövde’s startup program showcased everything from software solutions to upcoming game releases, all sharing the same goal: to refine their concepts, receive valuable feedback, and hopefully attract new partnerships or investments.
The digitalization companies taking part were Liopep, Kunskapslitteratur, Jeniki, Plailab, Forsway, and Simulation Partner. On the panel were Pål Brattberg from Peasy, Maggie Malek from Almi Väst, Christian Björkman from Almi Invest, and Felicia Hedström from Connect Sverige.
Meanwhile, the game studios in attendance included Mardröm Interactive, Solid Block of Power, Project Purple, Dofhouse, Studio Outlaws, Elva Entertainment, Glimeria, Studio Sture, and Gibbet Games. Serving on this panel were Armin Ibrisagic from DoubleMoose, Lars Håhus from Lama Lane, Binni Erlingsson from Behold Ventures, and Stefan Lampinen from Game Advisor.
Meet Early-stage Startups
After each presentation, the companies received direct feedback from a panel of seasoned investors and industry experts. One panel member, Maggie Malek från Almi Väst, hoped the pitching entrepreneurs walked away with genuine insights:
“It was my first time on the panel, so it was really exciting to hear each company’s pitch, offer suggestions for improvement, and ask questions that made them think. In my daily work as a financing advisor, I usually meet companies that are already finance-ready, so it was interesting to encounter startups you typically see at an earlier stage,” says Maggie.
New Insights and Contacts
For some teams, this was their first time pitching. That was the case for Sara Persson, who presented the game Gothic Love to a packed audience and an expert panel.
“It was nerve-wracking but also a lot of fun! It felt great to hear from the panel that what we’re working on sounds both exciting and achievable. I’m leaving with fresh insights, new contacts, and I already know what I want to improve for the next pitch,” says Sara.
The day concluded with a casual networking session, where conversations continued. The next pitch event will be held this summer, with more eager teams ready to present their ideas.
